1. General characteristic of the district
Petrodvorets district is included into administrative districts of Saint-Petersburg, it is located at the distance of 30 km from the center of Saint-Petersburg, the extention along the southern coast of the gulf of Finland makes 32.5 km, the area of the territory is 11534 hectares. Government institution the Administration of Petrodvorets district governs it. In 1996 Petrodvorets administrative district was divided into municipal formations – the city of Peterhof and the settlement Strelna, in 02.12.2003 the municipal formation – the city of Lomonosov was added. By the regulation of the Government of Saint-Petersburg of December 2, 2003 No. 46 the Administration of Petrodvorets district was reorganized by joining the Administration of Lomonosov district.
Frontiers of the district:
- In the north – the water area of the gulf of Finland
- In the south and west – Lomonosov district Leningrad region
- In the east – Krasnoselsky administrative district

- The area of the district territory, including water objects – 11534 hectares
- The area of parks and forest parks – 3282 hectares
- The area of gardening and market gardening– 450.2 hectares
- The general length of the roads – 243.9 km
